I’m new to the Hive and wanted to share some of the DIY bride excitement! My wonderful friend/wedding photographer suggested I make my own bouquet/boutonniere to really stay in budget. I’m so happy she made the suggestion because I had a blast designing my own flowers and I spent less than $200 (everything came from Hobby Lobby) on 7 boutonnieres, 2 bouquets (one large, one to toss) and 4 corsages. My bridesmaids are getting parasols instead of bouquets since we’re getting married in an Asian Garden in sunny Florida. I think they’ll be happy with that choice once the end of May gets here ; )
So anyway, here’s a few pictures of my projects. Let me know what you think!
I added a brooch that my late grandmother gave me so she can be with me on my special day
This is the top view of my bouquet
Here’s my FI’s boutonniere
And this is what the rest of the groomsmen’s look like

Here is the throw-away bouquet I made for our wedding next year. It is a mixture of silk flowers from the dollarstore and paper flowers I made at home out of coffee filters.
I am also planning on adding ribbon to the stem (with some pearl buttons perhaps?) but the ribbon I chose is ivory and I do not want it to get dirty before the wedding (its still over 300 days away).
Yours look great BTW! Fantastic job!

@mrshollinger: Wow you made those out of coffee filters? That is such a neat idea!
Thanks for the compliments ladies! Honestly, if I can do this anyone can! I never thought I’d be anywhere near a DIY bride, but I’m loving it!
