We are DIY-ing all our flowers …yikes… and I was throwing around the idea of wrapping the BM’s bouquets with something other than the traditional ribbon that could work as a gift also for the girls.
I was thinking maybe a vintage scarf or handkerchief that would complement their dresses and flowers. I’d love to do a pretty pashmina scarf but thought they might be too bulky. Also, I don’t want whatever I end up wrapping them with to get wet from the flowers.
Anyone have experience wrapping their own bouquets with a keepsake? What did you go with and how did you like the result? Did you use an under layer to wrap the flowers and keep them tight and the keepsake dry?

A pretty vintage silk scarf would look great, and it would be fun to wear it after the wedding! I’ve seen scads of them at thrift stores for cheap, too.

Just an idea, you could wrap the stems in saran wrap before putting the scarf on to keep them from getting wet.

I went to the fabric store and just bought some pretty fabric for them. For my bouquet I add lace that was left over from my dress alterations.

I think that’s a great idea! Just cut it down to size and stitch the edges to make it a little cuff before using, you know?
