I love the DIY aspect and you certainly can sew/have the time but….I don’t really care for the fabric.  🙁  That said, if it’s what you dreamed about to fit in with your wedding theme then keep it!

I think its cute!  You don’t usually see prints for Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, but if you’re going for a more casual/laidback wedding, I think it works great!  I don’t necessarily like the accessories though. Sorry to say that.

i think just it with the pearls would be great!

I think they’re adorable for a garden party; I don’t see them as “bridesmaids” dresses in the sense of the world.  It just seems a bit casual for me.  But if your wedding is lowkey/casual, then they could work.

    You have fantastic sewing skills!

I think they probably don’t like the dress because it’s not something they would normally wear. But honestly, I think you’ve done a fantastic job! The dress is super cute and I think they’ll look great in them!

I would love it- but I wear stuff like that from time to time… it might just not be their style.  If someone made that dress for me I’d be stoked!!

They are really nice dresses, but I’m not sure if they are suited as bridesmaid dress. Perhaps something in one colour? I think thats what your BM’s are maybe trying to tell you. I always worry about how things will photograph as well.

However – if this is what YOU love and what you want that’s really all that matters.

I wish I could sew like you, nice work!

I honestly think the dress cut is cute as hell, but the fabric is unique, and may not suit most peoples tastes.  The BMs probably don’t like the fabric because it DOES look really vintage (which if this is what you’re going for – GREAT!) and it’s not something you’d see everyday.

I would just tell them to suck it up though, because you’ve already sewn them and you’ve bought the fabric.

I like the style of the first dress pattern (in black) btw….what about using that?

I also think it is cute. There is no law that says bridemaids have to be all lined up in strapless solid cotton candy colored dresses.

They are probably just not used to wearing prints. If it’s your vision, go with it,

Have you shown them these pics with the accessories? Great job.

I don’t really love the pattern, but I LOVE the dress!  That is fabulous!  What about having your Maid/Matron of Honor wear the pattern, but have the rest of the girls wear a solid dress??

I think it’s really cute and fits the look you’re going for.

You did an awesome job sewing that dress.

Maybe show them some inspiration photos of what you’re going for so they can get a better idea of the look?

I actually love the dress and would love to wear that instead of some of the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses I’ll have to wear!  I think it sounds like they were voicing their opinions but will wear whatever you want.  A lot of people wear bm dresses they don’t love because they love the bride!
