Hi lovebabe,

I too have been looking into getting flowers at the flower district- I hear they are so cheap.  I don’t really want to spend more than I have to on flowers.  I am not sure how the logistics are getting to work out, but my sister’s friend has offered to do my flowers (she is a floral designer).  Let you know what I discover about making bouquets, etc.

I live around that area so I walk by those flower shops pretty often. My wedding was in Philly so I didn’t use them for my wedding, but I think you should just commit an afternoon to walk around and go into all the shops. There aren’t that many and they are all around 28th and 6th. Here is a list of flower wholesalers:

And a really helpful article on DIY flowers by shopping at the flower district:

I’ve stopped by the flower district before and they seemed abundant with cheap flowers.  But the ones I want to use are Gerbera Daisies and they seem a bit dainty to make bouquets and easily breakable after a few test runs.  So I’ve opted for fake flowers since they are just as good and last forever.  Several of blog posts had pictures of wonderful fake flower bouquets.
