I told my bridesmaids that if they want their hair done then they will have to pay for it because we are on a tight budget, they understand and have no problem with this. Some of my bridesmaids will be getting their hair done professionally and some will be doing their hair themselves.

i have been a bridesmaid 3 times and have never gotten my hair done professionally. i don’t feel like i am there to be the center of attention, so i haven’t thought to spend money to make it look perfect. i think getting the fabulous updo is for the bride.

My sister does some amazing things with hair, she is my Maid/Matron of Honor and one of my bridesmaids is pretty good at doing hair so between the 2 of them all of our hair will be great =)

I’ve never had my hair done as a Bridesmaid or Best Man.  I paid for my maid of honor’s hair.  The other BMs could have their hair done if they wanted, but they had to pay themselves.  I don’t think you are required to have people’s hair done professionally unless you personally are requiring them all to wear their hair a certain intricate way.

I gave my BM’s the option of having their hair and make-up done professionally or doing it themselves.  All 5 of them, plus the Jr., chose to have their hair done professionally.  The hairstylists we chose were in-home stylists (not from a salon) and were very affordable ($30 for an up-do like the one below).

I’m a bridesmaid in a wedding this coming summer. The bride just notified all of us that we will be having our hair done in-home for $65 a person, and we’re each paying for it. She also suggested we pay $35 to get our makeup done, but I told her I’ll be doing that myself.

I can’t afford to pay for my girl’s to get their hair done, so I told them that I don’t need them to get their hair or makeup done (but if they chose to I’d be happy to set it up). All three of them decided yes to professionally having their hair done and no to having makeup done.

I’ve been a bridesmaid 4 times. I’ve had my hair done at each, at my own expense. They never demanded it, but it was just customary. One bride said we had to have our hair up, and still we paid. Around me it is not customary for the bride to pay, it comes with the territory of being a bridesmaid. I actually have never heard of this.

I’m not paying for the bridemaids hair or make-up so I’m making it option for them.

They can get it done or do it themselves.  The only thing I asked them is to wear their hair up or pulled back somehow.  I don’t want anyone wearing their hair down.

I’m still undecided about this. I chose  simple bun style so they should be able to do it themselves
