So I fell in love with some cake toppers on etsy that were like $150 but we are on a budget. So I made our own! Lol here is a matching tattoo we have and then made these out of polymer clay with our wedding flower colors for about $35. They aren’t as neat and clean as the etsy ones. I need to put some glossy paint in the bride’s eyes so you can see them against the flat black maks. But I still think they are pretty cute. Anyone else craft their cake toppers? I’d love to see them!

Wow, good job!! I made my own as well…I had a book-themed wedding and my dress was victorian-ish. I wanted to find a topper that was in that theme but it was nearly impossible…so I made my own out of an old book π

Adorable, I love the tails! I had a polymer clay topper for my wedding, so I’m sure I’m biased, but they’re the best toppers IMO. Plus they make awesome keepsakes, I still have mine displayed in my living room.

soontobewilson : that’s adorable you could make good money selling these. Did you have a pattern or freehand?

Cute!!! I had the same experience. Etsy was just to expensive, but I really wanted penguins as they have special meaning to me and my hubby. Here are ours, also out of polymer clay π

futuremardinly : Thanks! I didn’t have a pattern to trace. I saw something slightly similar but tweaked it to my liking. it was actually a lot of work so I don’t think I’d want to do it again, LOL
Plus, it’s okay if I mess up my own work but I’d be too nervous making it for someone else π³

soontobewilson : That is awesome you did a great job!
housebee : I plan to keep them out, or if we have kids put them in the nursery and decide what little animal our kid is and add them to the clay family lol
marriedtopizza : Bahahaha nooooo! lol These things took forever to make and were so fickle! I totally understand why people charge $150 for them! lmao
MrsSeptemberPenguin : Right? Yours turned out excellent btw!
Thanks everyone for the compliments! I am trying to DIY what I can to save a little. So far so good! Even though they aren’t perfect I do love that I made them, it makes it a little more personalized.

herrera2016 : That’s an adorable idea! I don’t think we have any room on ours to add our kiddos, but I totally would if I could.
