I need some ideas. I’m creating our centerpeices and I hit a snag. The place our reception is at supplies votive candles in our package so I want to add them in. I want to do some varying height vases with those submersible jelly beads and then the candle on top. since the candles as far as i know is not the floating kind I need to find a way to have a solid thing in the vase to hope the candle so it doesnt sink into the beads. I have 2 sizes of square vases, one is 2″ wide and the other is 4″. anyone know of something i can put in to hold the candle up? I was thinking maybe a small clear petri dish but idk how that would look. maybe some little disk but i cant really find nothing. this is the idea i’m going for.

Any candle can be used as a floating candle as long as it is wider than it is high. If the venue provides votives, they likely include votive holders. Why not buy the floating candles you need for your vases and use the venue’s votives in addition?

You can buy cups to hang candles but they are pricey
You might get lucky and find a hanging candle holder with the right dimensions for your vases
You could try one of these to see if it stays suspended on the gel
You could cut the handle on these and hook the pieces over the edge of the vase
I think it would be much more cost effective to just buy some floating candles.
