I spoke with a florist about estimating the cost for all the flowers. That was fine, I think. I then thought that I may want to increase the number of flowers to add volume, so I started looking at the cost of flowers and vases etc. I’m primarily interested in the square/block vases, but at 5″ – 8″ I need many. The price the florist mentioned they pay for the vases is about the same I would pay. Then I saw that you can buy 100 roses at Costco for 75$. Should I just invest the time to DIY all the centerpieces (not bouquets or corsages), as I’m not sure it will actually be cheaper + I have to haul ~80 flower vases around (for purchasing and then the day of)? I believe I would have the time to do this.

I seriously considered the DIY route for my flowers/centerpieces but when I started to think about the logistics and stress of it… I decided just to leave it to the professionals.
But it comes down to cost and savings and what you think you can do. I don’t want to sound discouraging. But if the cost is about the same…go with the professional. Less headache for you.

I guess it depends on what your centerpieces look like?
I am DIYing my centerpieces, but they are very simple. A single rose submerged in water with a floating candle on top:)

Unless your saving a HUGE amount, I would say its totally not worth the stress, time, and aggravation. I rather go with less extravagant/expensive centerpieces and have the pros do it.
