We will have a vintage themed wedding and I want lots and lots of cream coloured and pink roses as centerpices. However I live in Sweden where a lot of stuff is really pricey and just the roses (no assembly) for 32 bouquets would have been 2500-3000$
I started thinking about using artificial flowers instead but I don’t like the look of regular silk roses. I guess the real touch ones would have been better but they are pricey as well. So I found foam flowers and decided to give it a try. I’ve found most suppliers in the UK and they seem to cost roughly 5$ for 8 roses. I bought cream, ivory, pink and light pink and tested to assemble them today.
As vases I have collected several crystal vases and bowls and also a lot of silver bowls from second hand stores. They will really add the vintage touch to the decorations and it is so much fun picking them out.
I just tested with some of my vase,s to see how many roses I needed in each, together with my table cloths (I love my table cloths, got them for 23$ each here in Sweden). I am VERY happy with the result. At a distance you can’t tell them apart from real flowers and up close I think they look really good as well. I think I will use two boquets at each table and then a lot of votives around.

Some of my pieces i have collected so far

BEAUTIFUL, that’s such a gorgeous table!!! I would never know that they’re not real! Do you mind if I ask where you bought them from?

@LaraW:
http://www.carnmeal.com/ but I actually found several other UK based online stores that seem to sell the exact same roses. I just kind of picked the first one I found and it worked well. Shipping was 10$ between UK and Sweden for 150 roses.

I guess it is always good to buy maybe 10-20 just to see you like the product. I gambled a little and bought 150 directly. I think I will need around 400 roses for my 32 bouquets and it will cost med 350$

wow! this is amazing! I’m using foam flowers for my flower girls’ baskets because I dont want their baskets to get heavy and fiddly with a soaked oasis sponge inside etc. Small trip =mess everywhere. No such luck with these bad boys! And they can keep the baskets as long as they like, they will look the same.
@LaraW: you can also buy them from Hobbycraft. They are even cheaper :

a good idea is to use real greenery with them (even just from your garden if you have one) because the greenery on foam flowers NEVER decieves anyone. It always shows that its not real
