Here’s a mockup of my DIY centrepiece. The votive candles are wrapped in vellum with a damask print, and the flowers are coffee filter roses arranged in a square black basket.
I’m pretty happy with it, but the table number is the same height as the flowers, which seems a little off to me. What do you bees think, does it look out of proportion?
(sorry for the crappy phone pics)

I think it looks great; however, I would raise the flowers up or lower the table number.

agree with the pp.
What do the vases look like?

Before I even read your description from just looking at the pic, the first thing that struck me was that the table number kind of hides the flowers. I agree with noritake about raising the flowers, or even just get a smaller frame and scale back the size of the table numbers. Other than that, it looks great!
Did you make the coffee filter flowers?

@noritake22: Thanks! I’m thinking about either raising the stems on the flowers to make it taller (which would mean adding more flowers to fill in the gaps) or just finding a taller basket/vase. I don’t want to change the table numbers since I already made them all I have a year until the wedding and I’m so excited I’ve been searching for projects to keep me from going crazy while I wait lol
@sonj818: It’s actually a basket from a dollar store:
@Amaryllis: Sigh, I knew it as soon as I put the table number next to the flowers, but needed some outside confirmation. I did make the flowers! It’s a lot of work but I love the way they look.

Wow! Your coffee filter flowers look so real! Great job. Could you make the table number landscape instead? That would lower the height and you could increase the flowers a bit as well.

@hotwings: Thanks, I’m really happy with how they turned out! I never thought of making the number landscape, I’ll have to try that.

What if you just put something (in your colors of course!) under the flowers to raise them up. Wrap a box in the Damask print and set the basket on top of that. It would raise them up a little and give you a place to add another pop of color. If the damask makes it so theres too much going on just do it in Black (I think that was the color of the basket).
I got the same baskets a few months ago to use as bathroom baskets because they were so cute!

Love the flowers they look very realistic!! I would make the table number smaller or put it off to the side so you can see those beautiful flowers better!!

looks but but I agree with another pp about either raising the flowers or lowering the table number

WOW your flowers look amazing! I don’t have the budget for real ones/don’t like them that much (yes, I’m sort of strange). Is there a specific website you used with directions for making them? I agree that landscape might be a good idea.
