Hi all, here is a how-to on how to make comic book shoes. you can use music manuscript or other paper as well:
you will need:
MOD-PODGE (I used the gloss one, $7 Amazon)
A FLAT PAINTBRUSH ($5 Amazon)
STEEL WOOL ($5 Local hardware store)
NAIL BUFFER ($5 Aamazon) tried it on my nails… CRAZY SHINE!
COMIC BOOKS ( http://www.newkadia.com/ )
TIP: If you sign up for Amazon Prime, you get free two day shipping for a month!
Here is a video that I followed:
ANOTHER TIP: Take your time and make sure you have very good air flow in the room you are working in. The glue is very strong and you will get dizzy lol.
First you cut little squres and glue along the edges
The glue will be white and dries clear and excuse my bathroom lol
Next cover the shoes in random scraps of comic books. You should cut the in different sizes and shapes. Apply a thin coat over.
Now, take your embellishments (faces, words, ect…. lol should’ve told you to cut those out first, please cut those out FIRST) and add them. Apply another coat of Mod-Podge. Let it dry
Apply about 3 more coats on everything you worked on, letting them dry in between coats. Take the steel wool and GENTLY buff it smooth. Don’t rub too much or too hard, it will rip the paper. Take your nail buffer and buff the shoes and enjoy!
