I designed my invitations awhile ago, printed mockups and modified the design slowly over a few months. I recently purchased paper, envelopes, wax seals, and ink to finally do them. I was waiting for the summer to start them since I’ll be done with school in a week. And now that the time has come to make them, I’m SO OVER them. I wish I just had someone else make them fancier, more colorful (and more expensive)…
Anyone else have to force themselves to do a DIY project they thought they’d be really excited about?

No – but I’m very slowly working on my invitations – I’m afraid by the time I send them out in July I won’t like them as much! Yikes.

we designed ours 2 months before needing to print them. i was getting the files ready last week to send to the printer and i started nit-picking them. i was about to have FH make changes then i realized – they’re fine! no one would even notice the minute changes i would have made… so i let it go and sent them!
with my other DIYs i’ve gotten more and more lax about it and in turn brought my budget down. i felt pretty overwhelmed early on about the idea of how a wedding was supposed to be… and have slowly gotten back to the real us and am making our wedding – OUR wedding.

Yes, don’t worry about it. Just get it done. Or as we say in the south “Git ‘er done.” I don’t remember invitations unless they are tacky. If they’re tacky, throw them away.

Awww. I’m sorry you feel like this. DIYing invitations is very long and tedious so I can understand where you’re coming from.
