I think they will be fine, not quite as sparkly as crystals, but I don’t think you would even be able to notice unless you had a crystal pair and a rhinestone pair side by side.

Personally, I think I like the look of a bit smaller stones though. I made a pair of crystal shoes for a friend and while the smaller stones take a lot longer I think they look nicer.

I think I like the 12ss size.

When I did a pair I used value bright crystals http://rhinestonebiz.com/c-473-flat-back-rhinestones.aspx they are still fairly expensive – probably twice the cost of the rhinestones you were looking at when you factor in shipping.

I looked at the reviews people gave for the other sizes of what you were looking at – one person seemed to think they were a little dull, but other people seemed happy. I’d probably give it a shot.

Has anyone every tried putting rhinestones on patent leather heels?  I love these shoes but Im not sure if the stones will stay

Scuff up the patent leather with some fine grit sandpaper (or whatever you have) and that will help the glue adhere.  You don’t have to remove the color completly, just rough up the surface so it isn’t slick. What kind of adhesive are you using?  You will find the camps divided on e6000 and gem-tac.  You could also do hotfix (gems with adhesive already on them that activate with heat from a tool, be careful of burns).  There are frustrations with application for all three type, just decide on what will be best for you.

Ok thanks so much…I like both e6000 and gem-tac, I was thinking of using the gemtac for this project though,  what do you think?  I have never used the hotfix rhinestones

Either will work.  Just be careful with the e6000 because it sticks to everything and you will have the little strings if you aren’t careful.  There are little tools and nozzles that can help with the application.  Use tweezers or a wax stick to pick them up.

Sorry to Mrsgurzakovic for jacking your thread. But to answer your question, I like the smaller SS look to get them really close together.  There are several examples of Bees who have gorgeous shoes but I like these from another site of DIYers.  There are several sizes placed on the shoe to give it dimension.  From ss6-ss16.
