I need some DIY that I can do early on. My FH and I have not been able to set a date, venue or really anything else… Mainly becuase we currenly live 500 miles apart, so it hard to plan, and have him see something and agree on it.
I am looking for DIY projects that I can do to keep me occupied. I am seriously 1. lonely and 2. jelous of all this amzaing stuff I look at everyday. I want to create something 😀
We have picked our colors, black white and dark purple. I am pushing for a winery wedding, but I don’t yet have winery supplies (corks, bottles ect). Do you have an little ideas that you would have loved to have time for that you didn’t do or can think of anything I can do with so little decided?
Thanks so much! Please post pictures/links to ideas if possible.

What about some pomanders to decorate your aisle with?

I was in pretty much the same place when we first got engaged. I had my mom make hangers for the dress and his tux- personalized with our names. Then I started designing my guestbook- which will be a quilt that people sign peices of before it is assembled, then I started designing the Save The Date and invites (you dont need details to get the theme set), I looked up and figured out centerpeice ideas, flower ideas, cake ideas, making the unity candles, favor ideas and started on them, flower girl sash and pillow, a thank you sign to hold for photos, a just married sign for pictures… and making lists/timelines of things. I also made a spreadsheet with venues/vendors and pricing, so that when we were able to start getting things set- the info was in one place. Just some ideas. Hope it helps.

Pomanders are a prefect place to start. Something I can easily do and I can definately just store them.
If anyone has anyother ideas of what I can do please just post, I really appericate it!

I’m further out than you are, and I’ve already made my flower girl basket. It was super cheap and kept me occupied for an afternoon!
I have also made a folder on my computer filled with inspiration pictures for everything, from flowers to decorations to ring bearer pillows. I am diy my centerpieces as well, and I have been keeping a close eye on Craigslist to find what I need. Good luck!

You could start with:
designing the STD and invitations
“tears of joy”, if you already know the number of guests
“Will You be my BM” – cards
Mr. & Mrs. and “Just Married” Signs, for the reception or as a photo prop
a DIY Bouquet
YAY-Flags or Ribbon Wands
Gifts for the Groom/GM/BM

Ring bearer pillow, garter, guest book. I made my garter early on, it was easy and fun, and you don’t have to worry about it matching the decor!

Thank you for all the ideas eveyone. 🙂
I have started on the pomanders. Who ever thought it was a good idea to use tissue paper I have a few choice words for, same goes for hot glue.
I am sooo excited!

I love DIY-ing too! My Fiance just shakes his head as I usually come home with more supplies every day 🙂
Some things I’ve done so far:
-I Spy cards for the kids (from marthastewart.com)
-Ribbon Wands (Those were SO fun to make!)
-“WE DO” letters for the cake table
-decorations for the lemonade stand
-Props for the photobooth wall
I’m currently working on personalized hangers for myself & BM’s….this is proving to be quite the challenge, though.
Good luck and have fun!
