Morning!! My fiance and I have decided to not do engagement pictures with our photographer. His mom said that she could try to take some for us with our digital camera. We are not too concerned about really high quality since they won’t be used for save-the-dates or anything, we will just have them for ourselves. I’m just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to try and get some good DIY pics, or any good poses to use, what time of day to shoot, etc. Thanks in advance!! I hope this post wasn’t too confusing, I’m trying to hurry out the door to work but wanted to write this up quick.

first thing you need is a good tripod, and good light. try doing it around late afternoon to catch the ‘golden hours’.
dont look at the camera, but look at each other….so much more natual smiles. maybe if you have a pet, include him/her in a few.
poses which show off your ring is nice…

We did DIY engagement pics. I looked at a bunch of engagement pics online and saved my favorites and went off of those. Definitly use natural light.

I wouldnt’ use a point and shoot during the golden hour. The camera can’t handle the high ISO required, and will probably fire a flash which is undesirable. Do it in good light, but in the shade.
