Argh, I was SO close to getting my invitations done… the invitation and mat were nicely taped to the pocketfold and all I had to do is add the inserts and mail, right? NO!
I had used tape runner to secure the invite/mat to the pocketfold, and they now were all peeling off! Every single friggin’ one! I had some Zip Dry glue that I had been scared to try, but went for it, and it worked great! It worked so well that I later used it to line my envelopes too. Didn’t bleed through anything, even the thin lining paper.
It seems much more economical than the tape runner, too. Now, I will admit I used “store brand” tape runner which was probably a mistake, but if I had to do it again (please, no) I’d stick with the glue, and encourage anyone else to give it a try.
(No, I don’t have stock in Zip Dry… I was just so relieved to find something that worked!!!)

And my crafting mantra comes to mind “always do a trial.” Easier to fix one than one hundred! Glad it worked out.

@baletrina: SO right! And, don’t convince yourself it will get better (oh, these aren’t sticking that well, but after I pile a bunch of books on top, they will be fine…) 🙂

Glad to hear our Zip Dry worked well for you, Laughlines (and I can confirm you don’t have stock in Zip Dry, since I DO work for the company that makes it )
Zip Dry is mistake proof, so you don’t have to be scared to try it-if it splooches out cause you used too much, just wipe away the residue with your clean fingers. Poof-it’s gone.
We’ve got a glueologist that can answer any questions about adhesives. He knows ALL things glue so feel free to email him : [email protected]
If he thinks somebody else’s stuff will work better, he will be happy to tell you. Congrats and happy planning to all!
