i wanted to share my ‘fake’ calligraphy that i used for my save the dates and plan on using for our invites. it’s not 100% perfect, but it’s super easy to do and can save a lot of money! (please excuse my crappy iphone photos that i took in front of the tv!)
first, start with your blank stationery.
then, address your stationery with your nicest handwriting. clearly, it doesn’t need to be perfect!
next, make a line next to all the down strokes of your handwriting, so every time you are moving your hand down when you write.
finally, fill in all the lines you just drew to make all the down strokes of each letter thicker. this gives the impression that a chisel tip pen was used to create the address.
and voila! you have slightly imperfect, but easy and passable calligraphy! and you saved a ton of money! go you!
