Hi Ladies – It’s two weeks until my wedding and we are out of money. We had a couple of really serioius family emergencies and it sucked all money out of our wedding that wasn’t already paid. Unfortunatley that means the flowers!!
We are cutting out almost all the flowers and going to use fake flowers for the ceremony only. Anyone have any pictures of Silk / Fake wedding flowers they can share?
I’m really bummed and I need some fellow bridal inspiration!!

@KristMar0814: My favorite “fake” flowers are the sola wood flowers. I think they are absolutely gorgeous and very real looking IMO. I don’t believe they are they expensive either.

ETA: Depending on your actual flower budget, Sams Club/Costco/Fiftyflower.com all have bulk flowers that you can order pretty cheaply. You’ll have to arrange them yourself, but they are beautiful good quality flowers. I did this for my wedding. I ordered 125 long stemmed white roses for like 90 bucks. 🙂 Maybe this could also be an option for you if your had your heart set on real flowers. Btw, my white roses stayed beautiful and white for over two weeks after the wedding. I came home from my honeymoon to fresh white flowers! I was shocked!

@lolita39: Those are gorgeous! I was actually on samsclub.com this morning but some of the reviews were so bad it made me nervous….I really had my heart set on orchids. Thanks for the review of sams club…I’ll mention it to my FH.

@KristMar0814: I’m not sure if it depends on how hardy the flower is… But, I cannot recommend sams for flowers enough! There are A LOT of women on here that will tell you the same thing!
If you want orchids and are scared of the quality though, you could always go to a florist and pick some up just for you? 🙂

I have sola flowers. The first photo is the sellers photo, but mine looks exactly the same, but larger. You can customize with colors and flowers. The bottom photo (sorry its so dark) is my Flower girl’s bouquet with my shoes.

my DIY bouquet. All fake flowers from hobbylobby!
They are having a 50% entire floral stock right now. I highly recommend it!

@KristMar0814: Sometimes fake can be almost as much!
If you want to cut cost and still use real maybe you could do a single stems for the bridesmaids or babys breath. For the reception tables do just a few single stems in vases….there are ways to use real flowers and still save!
You could get your flowers from costco or sams club and vases from the dollar tree and it would prob be les than fake going that route…..just a thought!
I used a mix of both real and fake but it still wasn’t as cheap as you might think it would be.
