So, My wedding planner @ my destination wedding quoted me $195 + 20% service fee for my bouquet. 195 really isn’t a big deal compared to the rest of the cost but the frugalness in me wanted to check out other options. So I looked online for fake flower bouquets and decided to DIY one myself.
I think it turned out GREAT! I bought my flowers @ HobbyLobby. Currently they have their entire floral stock at 50% off. I was able to create my bouquet for under 50 bucks. They look real to me (Majority of them are ‘real feel’ flowers) I’m also excited that I get to bring it back home and keep it forever 🙂
So, for those budget conscious brides or DIY brides hesitant about fake flowers? I say GO FOR IT!

Those look awesome! I like the colors you mixed. I have to say hobby lobby has some of the best fake flowers. I made ribbon flowers for mine but fake ones from the hob lob were definitely my plan b.

@tinkerbish: Really pretty! I too had a Destination Wedding and remembered the cost of everything…..crazy!!
I had a combo of both real and fake for my Destination Wedding. All my ceremony decor was fake b/c I rem them telling me it was $400 for an arrangement on the gazebo and I about died so I started DIYing like a mad woman and brought it all with. All the bridal party and my bouquet were real and the reception tables were real but the other was fake. I am totally for saving money esp with what some of the resorts charge!
Kuddos to you it looks fabulous! Are you going to DIY all the flowers now since you’ve had such good luck?

the only other flowers we need for our ceremony are Leis, and we’re getting them fresh. they’re only 20-30 each so not bad.
we’re having an intimate ceremony @ a beach in maui. it’s a public beach so no decorations are allowed! which is great. haha cuz i dont have to worry about anything! 🙂
