Hey Ladies! So… I purchased about 200 glassined bags for our favors about 3 months ago but the problem is that I am constantly changing my mind about wha to do for favors. We were originally going to buy a ton of fortune cookies and fill up each bag for our guests’and then I though to buy a gazillioncite size cookies and put them in the bags (assorted cookies and brownies). Now I’m thinking of fresh cherries filling the bags (I saw this on Martha Stewart’s website and really like it!) what do you all think? I’m so torn…. Goodies, candies, cherries, maybe a pretzel machine? My fiancé is not really helpful with this right now and I really want to work out the kinks now

Just think about storage, and how well the favors will keep, that determines how close to the wedding you have to wait to fill up the bags. I want to give out chocolate candy favors inm y pillowboxs, but considering how hot it was here last june I decided to go with jordan almonds but I still had to wait till the week of the wedding to fill up the boxes because the almonds go soft and stale if they are out of the original bags for too long

bells makes a good point. Cherries would have to be done last minute because they would mold in sealed glassine bags. You could do them if you want to leave the bags open, but it is a last minute job. They do look pretty.
You might want to do something that can be done ahead and put aside. You can order fortune cookies with custom fortunes. The supplier I use locally lets you use up to 9 different messages.

ugh I’m in the almost exact same position! I’d love to hear the suggestions… I’m not really down with doing everything last minute so I’d like to hear options that can be done well ahead of time if possible.

Thanks for the advice! @ julies1949… That is the exact photo that I found from Martha that swept me off my feet! I figured that after anevening with candy, food, cakes, etc… It would be refreshing to present the cherries as a take home and spit the pit out of the window lol…nope that doesn’t sound frightening! I really enjoy the idea for my summer wedding 🙂 I’m going to ask my maitre d if there is someone thatnwouldnbe able to do it while the party is in full swing, behind the scenes! Or mayliquor sisters/ bridal party could assemble them with me right before getting dressed! We’ll have 3 hours at the venue before the wedding begins at 5:30 🙂

Is it the summer feel your looking for? Why not fill the bags with sunflower seeds? They can be done ahead of time, they are cheap, they are so cute and VERY summer like! Just an idea?
