Using some floorplan software I have come up with this:
I realize it’s not ideal, but rounds just won’t work, and as much as it’s “cafeteria style”, it’s in a beautiful open barn.
My wedding is still not until next year, so this isn’t set in stone, nor do I need it to be, however, so we know what our rough guestlist should be (and what we want it to be) I want to know if realistically I can fit people in this space.
Everything is to scale and leaves 5 ft between tables, from what I’ve read is a decent amount of space.
For the meal, breads and salads will be plated/served. Main course will be buffet (buffest will be served out front (huge covered porch) as well as in the open space.
The bottom wall has two huge doors that open to the covered porch and the right hand wall could (if weather is good) but entirely wide open/open air to the surrounding yard/gardens.

If the circles are people, it looks awfully crowded. If I’m seeing things wrong, though, I think your layout is fine. It seems like people are pretty scattered (the tables, I mean), which might be an issue if people want to socialize with someone on the other side of the room. Would it be possible to just keep all the tables in one area?

The circles make about 2.5-3ft of space per person (per circle), just over 5ft total between tables.
I agree on crowded, with the open front doors to the porch if I put tables in the current open space (and left the left side open for DJ, buffet) I feel like it would be too much crossing paths to get to one spot at dinner.
Re the if people want to socialize,if this is just for dinner, can’t they socialize afterwards? The people around them at the tables wouldn’t be enough?
Here is the view looking to the front part of the barn, covered porch I mentioned, if anyone wants a visual of the outside…..
Halls in the area just weren’t “us” so we knew we’d have to make the space work the best we could to be able to have our wedding here.

It was just a suggestion. If I were a guest at one of the tables in the less-populated areas, I’d personally feel like a weird little island.

We’re only talking total floor space of 78ft by 33ft in this barn, so not sure at a table of 11 at the smallest it would feel island’ish at all, thanks though…..
