I am going to start my DIY flowers, bouquetts, boutineers, centerpieces on THURSDAY/FRIDAY and am going to upload ALL the information so if anyone wants to know flower #s, vendors, and construction issues there will be some updates!
In addition please ignore any and all spelling mistakes, I am just lazy at this point.
So to start I ordered around 500 flowers. A lot I know. I am planning on making: 1-bridal bouquett, 8-bridesmaid bouquetts, 1 junior bridesmaid bouquett, 2 mother bouquetts, 1-ring bearer boutineer, 8 groomsmen boutineers, 3 usher boutineers, 2 father boutineers, 1-groom boutineer, and 1 grandmother corsage. After that its centerpiece time.
This is my flower order:
American Floral Distributor (so far so good).10-white dahlias, 25 white football mums, 30 white cushion mums, 6 white button poms, 20-green hypericum (total order under $200, search coupon codes online).
Fifty Flowers.com (so far so good). 75-orange dahlias (under $200, search coupon codes).
Myflowerbuyer.com (so far Not so good). More on this later, we will see if I even get the flowers or if they look anything like what they are suppose to. If they come and are awesome or comparable to other sites I will totally correct the bad press I am issueing here. I also think I am the only one ordering from them since they know who I am every time I call. 100-orange ranunculus (I know I could have gotten these anywhere!), 50-orange Spider mums (the whole reason I ordered from them and know they are dyed..oh well), 60-orange daisy poms (again now they are dyed). (Over $300.)
Costco (so fart so good). 80-white spider mums and 150-orange carnations. (way under $200).
I spent under $900 for my plan of 12 bouquetts, 15 boutineers. I also have 14 wedding tables. The plan for this is a mix of mason jars with flowers and candles. All and all with flower food (ebay baby), ribbon (bbcrafts.com), wire/tape (JoAnne Fabrics) I am still under $900. I am using mason jars that belonged to my great-grandmothers (free and special meaning). If you add in all the candles, votives, tealights, initial letters for the church, extra ribbon for the cake, ringbearer pillow, and flower girl basket I am still below $1000. Which by the way, was 1/2 my florist estimate (which was with me still supplying mason jars.)
I totally have a spreadsheet for what I am “planning” on doing. But I could care less at this point if I wing it and see where it goes. All that really matters at this point is that flowers are pretty and we will have some, I saved $1000, and I get to spend long quality time with the awesome people in my life Friday drinking bloody mary’s and mimosas!
Hope this goes well….look for pictures FRIDAY if I have time! And if I end up loosing my mind I will let everyone know so people can not make the same mistakes I did. At a later point I will share all my other thrifty wedding tid-bits. Will let you know how the photographer and teenage family member videographer turns out (since we saved $$ there too)!
