I have decided to DIY my flowers and I have a few nagging questions before I pull the trigger on this one.
First, has anyone else made the corsages and boutonnierres? When did you make them? Night before? Where did you store them? Did everything seem to stay fresh for the wedding?
Next, Anyone stay in a hotel/suite the night before? What did you do with the flowers, especially the corsages and boutonnierres?
And, I have read and heard that calla lilies emit a kind of sap that can cause irritation to sensitive skin and can stain fabric, once cut. An article I read said to seal the ends with clear nail polish (great tip!). My question is, if I cut and seal the ends the night before will that inhibit the bouquets from staying fresh for the next day?
More information: I would like to order from Whole Blossoms to make the bouquets, corsages, boutonnierres and centerpieces (don’t worry, I have plenty of help!) and plan on making everything the day prior. I am then staying in our suite the night before the wedding and am not quite sure what to do with the fowers. The bridal party is getting ready at the hotel (guys too, in another suite) so the flowers kind of need to be at the hotel. We are also taking pics there.
