For those brides that did their own flowers, what online wholesalers did you use and not have any problems with?
I’m having someone do my bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets. The other flowers I need are rannunculus and dahlias. I want to put single stems in vintage glass bottles on the tables – that’s it. I currently have 75 vintage bottles plus a few other vases to fill with loose flowers (no filler).
I just received my flower quote and am blown away. For 1 bride bouquet, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, and loose flowers as I described above – the quote came in at $3,200. I’m in Iowa – those prices are RIDICULOUS. I will be meeting with another florist, but I’m just curious who had good luck with ordering flowers online (b/c I could easily do the single stem flowers in the bottles on my own).

Disregard previous post. I requested the breakdown for all the flowers and the florist misunderstood and thought I wanted the garden roses in all the bouquets, plus on all the tables. Holy schmoly, I just about lost it.
She’s now working on a quote for dahlias for the table so hopefully several thousand has been knocked off. She is also doing an arbor for us and she priced it with $1,200 worth of garden roses woven throughout it. YOUCH (although I’m sure it would’ve been gorgeous).

I seriously got my flowers from costco, the one i am close to actually always has perfect roses and every thing, so i called them and they got what i wanted, kind weird i know but they were actually really perfect and cheap, then i looked around on the net for ideas and i loved this PA Flower Shop and i just used them to get ideas for my bouquet. I used the flowers for my bouquest and my center peices. There are also a lot of other wholesalers out there, but this worked perfect for me and believe me im picky so…good luck!

I read about these from a book that recommended them. I’ve never used them though, so I can’t say what their quality is like. But the prices look good.

If your corrected quote doesn’t come back closer to your ideal range, check out Sam’s Club. I loved my roses from them, and loved the price too. You don’t have to have one near you either, they only do bulk orders like that online with home delivery.

I haven’t done this yet myself, but plan to follow in your footsteps for our reception:) Echoing soonerpsych, I have heard great things about Sam’s Club, but Whole foods too.

I bought my flowers online from Halls flowers, they did a good job. I also know that costco does have excellent flowers like the above post said, they always doa good job as well.
