- Wedding: April 2014
I still don’t know what to do yet with my flowers, which I want to get fresh by the way. From experience of the weddings I’ve been too. I can tell you, I can never remember the decorations at all, only if I looked back at pictures. So I really don’t want to put too much effort or money into it. I put my max budget for flowers at $300. I was going to have half the tables that are round have teapot centerpieces, and the long tables have an olive/wine bottle in the middle along with 2 mason jars on the side. Some ideas I had for the teapots were to put a hydrangea similar to the one that’s in my bouquet along with maybe a couple roses, some baby’s breath, maybe a couple tulips. For the wine/oil bottles a stem of spray roses or a tulip or single rose and another long stem of spray aster or long stemmed flower. And the mason jars put like baby’s breath with a stem of spray roses. In my mind, I should be able to just fill all these containers with water, and then just bam bam bam, throw the flowers in, shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes or less to do it.
So then I’m trying to figure out, do I want to buy online like from fiftyflowers.com or bloomsbythebox.com? Pros being I have control over what flowers I can get for my centerpieces. Like for example, they have the pink/green hydrangea that’s in my bouquet I could use. Cons being it’s more expensive than picking up flowers from the grocery store. OR Get them from the grocery store, at which I am at the store’s whim for what kind of flowers I get, and only hope that they have the kinds to flow with my theme (which pink, green, and yellow are the colors I want to stick with so maybe not that hard). But from what I saw at my Publish today just to give you a reference. I can get 2 Hydrangea stems at Publix for $4. Online, 1 stem is about $7-10. But at Publix, they only had white and blue Hydrangeas, not the green/pink one matching my bouquet.
Or if there is anyway from the Tampa Bay Area that knows of any good places to buy flowers? Thanks!
