I gel the UV cured gel polish manicures all the time at the salon but never havedone it at home.  I love them.  They usually last more than 3 weeks.

I LOVE gel manicures but my salon charges $30+$5 to remove the previous polish. This seems like a STEAL to me! I think I know what’s going on my Christmas list! 🙂

I’d love to hear if anyone has used these as well.

I started doing bio-gels on my nails last year, then I worked my way to a bio gel overlay and then finally shellac/gel manicure.

This actually seems like a steal to me, you can do your own nails over and over for the price of one manicure.

I just got all the stuff for the Gelish brand gel stuff!  So far I love it.  It was about $110 for start up supplies – I ordered everything from Amazon.  I got everything they say to use in the application instructions on their website and also this 36W UV lamp.  My first try was bad and I ended up peeling it off after a day.  This is because I got it all over my cuticles since I just wasn’t used to working with the products.  The second time I tried, it came out muuuuch better.  It takes a while to do with the UV lamp (about an hour) but I think if you get an LED lamp the dry time is a lot faster.  I’ve had it on a little less than a week but I can’t see any reason why it would start chipping or peeling at this point..it seems pretty on there! I think it only peels when it can start to lift at the edges.  Hope this helps!

First attempt (you can see how it’s all over my cuticles):

Second attempt!

Also, you can paint over the top of it with regular nail polish and take it off with nail polish remover without ruining the gel!  I added white tips for fun 🙂

I added everything to my cart- all prep stuff plus 3 polishes (except the UV light because the reviews are bad) and applied the coupon code 11410 and they gave me one free polish, free shipping, and took 10$ off my order! The whole deal is only like $51.00 which is SOO much less than even going to the salon 2xs! I’m thrilled! Thanks for sharing!

@Aure:  Just make sure you use non-acetone nail polish remover or it takes the gel off too!

@Ms. Martian:  Thank you! At this point it’s hard to tell that I was a full blown, hard-core nail biter six weeks ago 🙂

@Mrslawyer2bee: Good job! That’s sort of the reason I get my nails done, I pick at my cuticles. It’s really bad when I’m stressed but I was able to stop for a little while. I got them re-done with hopes of fully stopping soon!

@Ms. Martian:  that’s my newest habit now that I’m not biting lol.  It’s just so addicting! Mine gets so much worse when I stress too.  Good luck with your habit breaking!

@Aure: haha that would have been bad when you went to take the regular polish off and next thing you know the gel came off too.  The 100% will come in handy when you want to soak the gels off though!

@Aure:thanks for the review!

I have the OPI Axxium set, but I rarely use it because it takes forever + a day to cure! Does the LED really work that much better? Anyone know? I would hate to spend more $$ if it was comparable…
