My sister in law’s baby shower is next Saturday. This will be her first baby and I’m pretty excited for her. She is expecting a sweet baby girl in early April. I’d like to make her a gift. Not a diaper tree because my other sister in law said she was thinking of doing that. I had thought about making a tree with burp rags that she has on her registry and maybe adding some other stuff. I also found these supet cute month stickers on Etsy and thought it would be cute to buy those and a few packs of onesie and maybe some colored socks that way she can take pictures of the baby each month with a new pair of socks and a onesie. I just can’t see my SIL sticking with it and doing it each month.
Do yall have any ideas? Have you maybe done something like this for a shower?

@Curly W: Im not sure if you’re a scrapbooker but maybe an ABC book? Ive done that before for a one year olds birthday and the family LOVED it! Something like this http://offbeatfamilies.com/2011/08/diy-abc-book but with paper instead of felt. I personally LOVE the idea of the month stickers- but that’s totally something I would use and I can see if they won’t use it it might not be worth it. Loads of cute stuff on etsy if you think it will be sent in time

@papercrafter: The picture won’t load for the ABC Book. Do you have pictures of yours? I found this today on Pinterest. Maybe I’ll just do something like this.

What kind of stuff can I put in it? So far what I got is….
2) Baby wipes
3) Small Mat or blanket so the baby has something to lay on?
I don’t want to seem cheap. Maybe I’ll just throw some other random stuff in there. But I really don’t want to spend a lot. We are still saving for our March wedding. lol

These are from my pinterest, I left them attached to my pinterest because my kids board is full or awesome stuff!
DIY basket ideas

if you look at my pin board, there are all kinds of awesome things on there that you could add to a basket or tree, like homemade food pouches (for purees after 6 months when she decides to start, non messy), temperature taking thermometers, etc. You could maybe make a ‘sick time’ basket with child safe mediations (I’d add a big tag highlighting age recommendations), a thermometer, a book on baby sickness, like how to reduce a fever naturally, some soothing lavender baby bath supplies, and teething materials. Maybe lanolin cream if she is BFing, and some witch hazel and stuff for after she gets home from the hospital. @Curly W: How about these grab and go bags? I think they’re an awesome idea… You can include a clean onesie, a diaper or two, an individual pack of wipes, etc. in a handy package so the new mom can just grab one and toss it into the diaper bag or just grab it for a quick outting, like going to the grocery store.

The diaper cake.
Seriously cute, can be used as a centerpiece, and very functional for the mother!
