Mornin Bees! Today marks only 2 weeks until we leave for our wedding moon in Mexico!! I’ve been randomly doing hair & makeup trials throught the past few months since I will be DIYing it all myself. I need some input though from you lovely ladies regarding which one looks best with my dress & overall look…. I’ve got a little bit more time so if you like a style but it needs some tweaking please let me know that as well! My dress is in the last picture, and under that is a pic of the ceremony area….
1) First Try- Regular Side Braid with a smaller braid detail in front (forgot to tease so not alot of volume) Makeup is a little plain, this was before I decided to get fake lashes & a contour kit
2) Second Try- VaVaVoom Sideswept curls (love it but probably waay to hot & heavy for mexico) My regular night/going out makeup
3) Third Try- it’s the vavavoom above but with a fishtail braid, side twists, then rolled up into a large side bun…. my regular everyday makeup
4) Fourth Try- French Twist (took forever since I have soo much hair & it’s super thick)- not sure what I think, I like the classic look but it feels HUGE to me- like bump-it huge….. Love the makeup (full on fake lashes & contouring)
5) Fifth Try- Fishtail side braid- but I just noticed it’s really hard to see 🙁 Boo….
This pic is my dress & accessories at the final fitting- the only thing missing is the purple shoe clip flowers….
Beach Ceremony Area at Privilege Aluxes, Isla Mujeres (minus the chairs since our 4 guests are our party as well). The two girls will be in white, and the guys are in silver/light grey pants & white short sleeve button ups….

Number 3 just says beach wedding to me, very pretty! I also like your makeup in number 2 the best, but would do fake lashes with it too.

Here’s a closup of the makeup I’m seriously considering, from the fourth style:

@AnnieAAA: If you don’t mind me asking, what do you like about the makeup in #2? Is it because it’s more natural?

For those voting on the vavavoom sideswept curls do you really think they will holdup to 95+ degree weather & humidity? I love the style but I worry I will be very hot & sweaty & sticky and end up with flat crappy looking hair with that style…

I look your hair in 3 and makeup from 4.

First of all, I wish I could do anything remotely close to what you do with your hair. Putting mine up in a ponytail is sort of the limit to my skills!
Second, to your questions – I love the Fishtail Side Bun. Perhaps you could make the bang just a little softer? As for your makeup, I like it in both photo 2 and 4 – could you combine them and just make 4 a little softer as well? In particular the eye-shadow, it just looks a little harsh.

@eocenia: thanks- lots of time & youtube tutorials! I’m going to have to try making the bang softer as you recommended- maybe that’s the one thing that holding me back from using this style! I hear ya on the makeup- I did #4 for a big event we were going to that night so it was pretty glammed up & on there thick like! I’ll have to give it another go with a bit of a lighter hand considering we’ll be in daylight for nearly all our pics (a little sunset but no nighttime)….

@BeckyS0: Very impressive! I think it would look great if you just worked on the bang a little. Perhaps you could sweep up the edge underneath the rest of your hair, so that it’s more incorporated in the hair-do.
As for the makeup, that makes sense – the 4th definitely looks more appropriate for a night time affair! I would probably work on getting it a little bit of a more sun-kissed look as it’s a destination wedding.

Hair from 3 and makeup from 4. You have gorgeous hair by the way.

Three things before I give you my opinion 🙂 I live in fl, so humidity and heat are everyday, I am a studying cosmetologist (almost Done) & I have tons of Hair. That being said, #2 hair is completly possible. How? Put a light weight gel inyour hair before you blowdry. When you do your curls, hairspray them, then bobbypin them up until right before the ceremony, add a little more Hairspray when you take them down. And the #4 makeup is beautiful.

Curls thrive in humidity, trust me I lived in hell..aheem..Florida for 12 years! Listen to the PP!

I really like the fourth style makeup. And the second hair. As PP said: lots of hairspray 😉

Can’t believe you’ve only got 7 votes for #4!! It’s lovely. And perfect for hot Mexico weather. Very classy.

#3 is perfect for a beach wedding! I definitely like that one the best 🙂
