I posted last week about my failed DIY attempt to make my own headpiece, you can see that post here. Well, here is a happy update!
As a little bit of background info, the headpiece I wanted but couldn’t afford (or get in time) was this one from etsy: (I can share the name of the seller if anyone is interested)
When that didn’t work out, I tried to make it… unsuccessfully at first, but I am *not* one to give up. I went at it again, and made the hairpiece seen in the next photos!
I apologize that the photos aren’t that great quality. They really don’t do the headpeice justice. It sparkles so beautifully in person!
It isn’t exactly like the original, but close enough!
I wasn’t sure if I was going to wear it or not until I did the trial. I really like it!
I will wear it up higher on the forehead on the actual day, and in this picture the combs aren’t pinned in place. It will wear more securely the day of. It’s kind of delicate so we didn’t want to pin it in place
And this is the inspiration picture for my makeup. I think I might ask the makeup artist to go a little lighter on the eyeshadow color next time. She went with grey because of my blue eyes, but I wear light brown/taupe/champagne eye color every day and it looks really pretty and natural. I love love love it though and wouldn’t be sad if it didn’t change.
What do you ladies think of the hair and makeup? I was kind of unsure about the hair because it’s such loose curls that it will likely fall out, but luckily the hair and makeup artist is my close friend’s sister, so she will stay at the wedding all night with her curling iron ready, and we agreed to pin up the hair into a simple updo if it starts to look like crap. 🙂
