So here is the test run of my invitation! I was originally going to do cream on metallic gold but when I did a test print on the metallic paper I fell in love! Is the gold metallic on black too dark? I feel like I can read it just fine but I’m not sure if I am just loving the metallic paper too much. Does this read semi-formal? Also I’m considering making the gold paper larger so only 1/8″ instead of 1/4″ of the black paper shows. Invite and insert will be in a gold envelope.

babykoala: Love it! In how it looks and reads. Good job! Try a thinner border and see which you prefer. I like everything about it.

I think it looks great! Also, random, the ring in your icon- where did you find it?

babykoala: Love it on the gold cardstock! Definitely looks elegant.
I feel like if you decide to go with the 1/4″ border that it would benefit from another color like the cream you originally planned on printing on or a glitter cardstock. I think either would give it a nice framing and a polished finished look.

If you were going with cream before, maybe try the cream as the background? I think cream might heighten the effect of the gold. I love the design of the invites but when I first saw the photo, I thought the gold was more of a tan, contrasted with the black. The cream might help it shimmer some more!
And yes, this does read semi-formal! 🙂

MrsBuesleBee: Thank you! I don’t remember sorry pinterest I think.
whitemochi622: Thanks for the input! I will try the cream too. The photo does make it look tan but it’s very gold IRL.
