Hey bees! I’ve made a few posts in the past chronicling my DIY invite process. Invites are complete, mailed out, and RSVPs are rolling in! So exciting! I thought I would do a quick update with the final product!
The outer envelope is mint, and I used a grey pen to handwrite addresses. I made inner envelopes out of doilies, and wrote the invitees names in gold pen. I designed the invites myself using GIMP and graphics purchased from Etsy. They were printed with Catprint, which is a wonderful company. Special touches included gold heart stickers and custom address stamp.
Here are all the invite supplies laid out:
The front and back of the invite- I used foam squares to mount them together, so there was a kraft paper border around the front of the invite (the brown paper is slightly larger to account for this):
Suite all bundled up:
I put them in the lace envelope with the back side up:
Then folded them and added a gold heart sticker. I actually forgot to take a pic of this and redid it for the purposes of this post but unfortunately ran out of stickers, so I made one by colouring some paper with gold pen…rest assured, the actual stickers looked much nicer 😛
Front of the lace envelope with “calligraphy”:
And I inserted them into the outer envelope like so…
And the front! The back flap has our address stamped on it in grey ink.
It was a TON of work, especially the addressing and assembling, but worth it- I love how they turned out and we’ve gotten plenty if compliments. What do you think?
If any of you have questions about the process, let me know!
