Well, Miss. CreamPuff’s last post did me in, and my Gocco is on the way. That being said, I now need to DIY my invitations to make myself feel better about the $$ I just dropped on my new Gocco. Thing is, I have zero experience with Adobe Illustrator…. anyone have any ideas on how to get professional looking results with a Word document? Or any suggestions at all before I venture out in to the world of Gocco printing?

most fonts, particularly script fonts have extra characters called glyphs that can make nice interesting pieces of art. In Illustrator you can view the gyphs palette by going to the type menu and selecting glyphs, I suggest viewing the glyphs one font at a time.
also some script letters like l or even parenthesis and hyphens have a little flair to them and if turned on their side or at angle can easily make nice design elements.
hope that helps

I think photoshop is a lot easier than illustrator. You might want to try a 30 day trial What do you have in mind for your design? You might be able to make it work in Word using .jpg images and text. I have photoshop and illustrator so if you need help, let me know.
