Michaels has a great selection of print at home invites. I used them and they were really simple to put together. Typically they run coupons for 40% or 50% off so you can save some money that way. Keep an eye out for buy one get one free too. I was able to get my invites that way. I got 80 invies for $29.99 plus tax.
here is a really blurry iphone pic of my inviations….they also had matching programs pictured below:

There are different levels of work required depending on how intricate you want you invitations to be and how much of it you will purchase already completed.
The invitation kits are a good money saver and also not too difficult to complete since they are already cut and designed.
In my case I wanted a pocketfold and wasn’t willing to pay $5 or more per invitation so I made my pocketfolds from scratch and designed all of the inserts. I did save myself some energy by having them printed and cut at a print shop (which was also a money saver because their price was fantastic!). Then I assembled them at home.
Some people do the opposite and purchase the pocketfolds and then make and cut all of their inserts!
So I think your best bet is to first decide the type of invitation you want to have, then you need to decide whether or not it is a DIY project that you are willing and able to take on!

Thanks for all the help!! I’m looking now to decide what style I want to start with. I’ll follow everyone’s advice from there…but I’m sure I will have lots more guest ions before I’m done!! 🙂
