Cutting paper to desired size and then printing

Printing on an 8.5x11 and then cutting

we used a different method so unforotunately i can’t speak from experience, but one possible downside with cutting the paper first is that some printers get a little wonky when printing on non-standard sizes (paper shifts and prints crooked, etc.). but i’m sure people have done it both ways with great success!

I personally would print first and then cut because of the wonky-ness that MissPug mentioned.

Print first, then cut, unless you have amazing special skills with your home printer : ) You could also take the printed copies to Kinkos or another similar place and have them cut the invited professionally for you. I’m not sure how much that would cost, but it could be worth it in saved time and effort (speaking from my personal experience with the world’s worst paper cutter).

I’ll be printing first and then cutting.

I’m going to put my input as it depends on what size of paper you design it for.  If you are designing it for non 8.5×11 sheets, then it might be difficult to get things aligned I guess.

If you cut the paper first you really run the risk of it getting paper jammed in your printer, I really recommend cutting afterwards.
