I just thought I’d share our latest projects for those who are interested (:
We used the template and tutorial from Lovely Indeed. This project took about 30 minutes (we only made 6 books since we’re having a small wedding without many children) and didn’t cost us much at all!
At first we were planning on doing personalized crayons, but then I stumbled on these gems here! Only $3 each (: I think they’re really cute and we just decorated them with some baker’s twine, a sparkly gold circle (we used a 1inch punch and some sparkly scrapbooking paper from Michael’s), and pink stickers from here. We just stamped them with our rolling alphabet stamp.
We’re having a rustic/vintagey/pretty/diy backyard wedding and afternoon reception, so we decided on wooden utensils. We purchased ours from Shop Sweet Lulu. It was hard to decide because they had so many pretty patterns. In the end, we chose plain utensils and decided to stamp them ourselves. We bought a gold stamp pad from Michael’s and used our trusty rolling alphabet stamp again 😉 It took some trial and error. Thankfully if we made a mistake we could just sand it off quickly and no damage was done 😉
If you’re planning on stamping yours, just make sure your words aren’t too long. The arch of the fork makes it difficult to stamp long words without missing parts of different letters. That’s why our “Just Married” is separated along two lines. We laid the utensils on a folded up napkin from here and tied it with some gold and white baker’s twine from Knot and Bow on Etsy. This was a time consuming project, but very rewarding! And definitely way more fun than school work 😉
Feel free to ask any questions you may have (:
