So we’re going for a rustic/elegant vibe for our outdoor evening wedding. Our tables are the huge round ones that seat 8-10 people and will have white linens. This is what I put together today (on a much smaller table) to get a feel for what the centerpieces will look like (please excuse the wrinkled sheet-turned-tablecloth). The candles will be lit, but I feel like it looks a little plain as is.
I’m thinking about adding some smaller pebbles around the centerpiece as well as some votive candles in clear glass holders. Should I add anything that would bring in some color (our colors are included below as well)? Maybe sprinkle some blooms or petals around? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks ladies!!

@Miss Mauverick: I agree, it needs color, but man it’s gorgeus. That plum with that green would look great.

Maybe make one of the candles that plum color, and then add a plum ribbon around another lantern?

@ChuckNorris: Hmm, that’s interesting… I like the idea of adding plum in some way; the ribbon suggestion sounds intriguing. Thanks for replying!

I agree, maybe introduce some plum/lavender? Love your concept!

I think it is beautiful as is. Sometimes simplicity is the best. If you want to add some color you could tuck in some large mums in one of your colors.
Place the flowers in florist tubes and tuck them in close to the lanterns, much as the succulents are in the pic below.
I would use the same color for all three candles. Instead of white you could use the pale pink or blush color if you preferred for the candles.
You might also be able to find pebble candles. Most venues would require them to be contained in a votive holder.

That looks beaaauuutiful! Very close to my theme, but different colors. You could try putting some cool sticks in with the moss to add some interest, and then you could also do plum glass marble thingies in the lanterns around the candles. Or, put a plum ribbon around the biggest pillar candle.

Love your concept! I agree with adding a ribbon. I also like the pic Julies posted with the succulent.

Ladies, thank you all SO MUCH for the input! Based on your feedback, I will add some blooms around the centerpieces (lavender/plum colored) and a few more rock/pebbles/twigs/pinecones along with the votive candles in small glass jars. I’m keeping all the candles white because I like uniformity. I’ll test out the ribbon idea when I do another test-run.
I’ll do another mock-up this week and set it up at night so I can light the candles and get a feel for the ambiance. I have to admit, I’m ridiculously excited about how this turned out and I can’t wait to see all the tables decorated!

@Miss Mauverick: Cannot wait to see the new mock up pics. What you have done thus far looks amazing but I agree — a few pops of color and it’ll be out of this world. Gorgeous idea!
