My first stab at a DIY make-up trial wasn’t a complete disaster, but there was also lots of room for improvement. Today, I decided to have a second shot at it! Here are the results:
I am going for a natural look. What do you think? 🙂

Looks good to me… Your lashes look great! =)

@CookieCharmer: I think browns and golds would look better on your eyes!

@CookieCharmer: Your lashes look great & your skin looks seriously flawless! I do think the color of your eyeshadow doesn’t play up your gorgeous intense eye color though. Like PP said I think goldens & browns would work better for that. I think the crease color needs to be stronger throughout as well- it’s so understated it might not show up much on camera in full-sunlight.

So, so good!
Only recommendation would be to work on the brows a bit. Maybe go to a makeup place and have them teach you how to shape and fill them in. There are also some great videos on Youtube about it. Brows make a HUGE impact in how polished you’ll look. With some killer brows, you’re definitely all set for the aisle!

@CookieCharmer: First of all, your eye colour is amazing. I am so jealous.
As for the make-up, I love how you did it but I am not as much of a fan of the colours. I think the same application technique with different colours would be more flattering.

I think your blush color is really lovely!

Your skin/blush is great, but I don’t think the eye/lip combo works. I’d either switch to a lighter lip or a more neutral (brown?) eye.

The eye/lip combo doesn’t work for me either, sorry! The eyes are too white, too light and it isn’t making your baby blues really pop like they should.
Here are a few great examples:

@CookieCharmer: Oh my gosh, you have beautiful eyes and great lashes too! I think if you wore earth tones like brown, gold, and taupes, it would make those eye pop like crazy! It would also bring a natural glow to your skin.

Thank you for all of your input, ladies! My lashes are not natural, sadly. They are eyelash extensions! I do love them, and am considering keeping them after the wedding. 🙂 I’m not even wearing mascara in these pics!
I hear you on the eye/lip combo thing. Unfortunately, I tend to really dislike the way that brown/gold/copper eyeshadow looks on me. I always see pictures of it on other people that make it look amazing, but when I put it on myself and look in the mirror, I always immediately go “Oh God, NOPE. I look hungover. Get it off.” I don’t know if it is my skin tone, or the fact that I wear silver eyeshadow every single day, and am therefore used that palette on my eyes…but I definitely don’t want to wear browns/coppers on my wedding day, and then end up with that visceral reaction of “NOPE” every time I see my wedding photos. That would make me so sad. I am, however, going to go with a more subdued/neutral lip color instead! That might be a decent compromise! 🙂

@Laurenskii: I agree about changing the eyeshadow color to something warmer.
Otherwise, you did an amazing job! I like how the slight purple tint of your lipstick brings out the blue in your eyes. 🙂

Eyebrows look good, lipstick color is a little too mauve in my opinion but is okay if you like it… the cheek color is good but that eyeshadow palette you used is not doing you any favors. It looks like its washing you out. Use a deeper shade rather than those brighter colors. Try using browns on your lid like a nice shimmery beige all over and a dark brown right in the corner of your eye blending up into your socket. Or if you want color then do a nice shimmery beige all over your lid with a deep deep purple on the outer corner of your eyes blending upward towards your socket. But I just don’t think that color is good for your skintone. Good job on everything else though.

I am with everyone on doing more neutral browns for your eyes. The Naked Palette by Urban Decay is one of the most flattering eye palettes for natural makeup.
Everything looks beautiful otherwise!!

I agree to go darker on the lids. It does make it a little too washed out unless. How about darkening the bottom line. I love love the lipcolor. Maybe shape eyebrows to HD style eyebrows a bit more. A nicely shaped eyebrows help the face by a lot.
