@dreamer1288:  It works really well, and they have eyeliner too I think. My eyes are usually brown!

First of all – your smile is gorgeous! please dont hide it because you dont like your teeth, which are fine by the way!!!

I think you have done just a good a job as the pro!

One minor thing, i’d get a brow pencil and fill in your brows a tad, on the left brow in your pic there is a sparse spot.

If you didnt like the false lashes, have you considered eyelash extensions?  they are way worth it and feel like your own lashes and way less irritating that falsies.

All in all, awesome job, well done! ๐Ÿ™‚

You look beautiful in both pictures, and if you hadn’t told us which is the DYI application, I would’t have known. I agree with all that PPs have said, but I’ll add one thing: if you choose to DYI your make up on your wedding day, make sure you allocate a lot more time than you think you’ll need, eevn if you’re 100% used to doing your make up the way you’ll do it on the day. I DYIed my make up and it took me forever, although I’m used to doing my make up in different ways for many different occasions for many years. I was flustered, kept getting interrupted, and even had to redo some bits. And practice again and again and again over the next few weekends. Good luck, and come back after to let us know how you got on, and to show pictures!!!

@dreamer1288:  They both look great! But I think I like the pro makeup better ONLY because it looks like you have on less eyeliner on in that picture, at least on your bottom lid. I think it makes your face look brighter and younger looking (not that you look old in the DIY picture by any means!). I think the rest of your DIY makeup is great, but maybe lighten up the bottom liner a bit!

@dreamer1288:  P.S. I think your teeth are cute! I prefer a smile that is less than perfect over a smile that is completely aligned and bleach white!

I agree with so many previous comments- you did a great job on your own! The only thing I like better in the pro pic is the eyeshadow color. If you don’t know what she used, if anything you could go to a makeup counter and have them try to replicate it so you know what shades to look for. Good luck with everything!

I’m not sure if others said it…but you haven’t seen YOUR make-up DIY application on a FORMAL camera.   Of course it looks better on a cell phone, but see how you may look washed out once theres a huge flash in your face!

both are so cute! But pro makeup looks better to me. Maybe you can ask her not to use false lashes? I really like the eye makeup of the pro one.

I think I do like the way the pro did your eyes a bit more… it’s more neat and tidy. Even though you hated the false lashes, they look good on you! I wonder if your eyes became a bit red from the lashes, or from the eyeliner?

I don’t like how much foundation she put on, but the truth is that it’s a bit hard to tell in the photo (doesn’t look caked on) and it does even out your skin tone. She dropped the ball on your eyebrows though – they maybe needed to be filled in with all that foundation.

I think your DIY/typical makeup is fab, but I’m also of the opinion that the makeup you do every day shouldn’t be the makeup on your wedding day (otherwise I’d just be wearing mascara haha)

I think if you try the pro route again, you should ask for a lighter face coverage (if it makes you uncomfortable) and more dramatic eyes.

If you go the DIY route, I’d say to make sure you use a new tube of mascara (maybe look into individual lashes to help add some volume), make sure you don’t use lotion/foundation with SPF (I kept making that mistake until recently!), consider using a photo primer (I bought one from Nyx, worked well), aand pick up a photo finish powder to help set your makeup (again, got mine from Nyx)
These are all things I learned from my DIY-makeup-for-pro-photos escapades haha

I think it looks like you have too much foundation on in the professional pic. It almost looks grainy. I don’t like that I can see the makeup.

I think your DIY makeup looks better.

I like your DIY application better, maybe with a little tweaking of the colors?
