Goodmorning to my fellow Bees! (and if it’s not morning where’ you’re at, oh well).
Since Fiance and I are eloping, I will be doing my own makeup, I typically don’t wear much makeup – chapstick and mascara are my best friends. However I would love some face slimming/contouring tips for big cheeks, and any other tips you ladies have to make sure my makeup looks great in photos!
If you DIY’d your makeup, please share any tips of photos you have below!

Hi ! I am a makeup artist and I am DIYing my own makeup. My main focus is lashes( will be wearing falsies) and winged liner, really good foundation (photo ready by revlon is INCREDIBLE!) and a bold pink lipstick. As far as contouring, I love to add bronzer to my cheekbones, and circle around my face for more definition( I will be doing a light stroke because id rather focus on other features of my face instead). I wont be doing my nose or anything because I dont want my makeup too over done. The photo ready concealer will make me look flawless.

Hey there! I did my own makeup and I have big cheeks! I practiced highlighting/contouring a lot to try to slim my face. I wore fake lashes and a nude/pinkish matte lip.
The products I used were …
– Makeup Forever HD foundation
- Urban Decay Naked Palette (original)
- Bare Minerals Warmth topped with a dash of NARS Laguna bronzer for contour
- Bobbie Brown blush in Coral Sugar
- Ambient highlight trio
- Stila eyeliner pen
- Anastasia brow pencil
- Tarte matte lip balm stain (in Exposed) topped by Bite Beauty lipstick in Musk
-
Here was one of my practices:
Super late posting to the thread! But, I did my own makeup and had a lot of fun doing so. I really love makeup, so I already had a lot of things purchased that I wanted to use but, I would say you could probably spend around $100 for a good foundation, a beauty blender, some blush, and some concealer. I used Maybelline concealer, Christian Dior foundation, the Beauty Blender brand sponge, and a Smashbox blush. I think the beauty blender is awesome for getting a flawless look to your foundation. Sorry this photo is gigantic, but I just wanted to show you the finish I ended up with. It certainly doesn’t look professional quality, but I also didn’t have to spend $300.
