Origins Ginzing moisturizer, Supergoop sunscreen, Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 foundation, Tarte shapetape concealer, Burt’s Bees blush (the pink one), wet n wild highlight, It Cosmetics CC pressed powder, NYX brow pencil, TooFaced chocolate bar eyeshadow palette, Covergirl mascara, and either Fenty or Bite lipgloss.

I feel like I’m somewhat decent at my makeup and want to look like myself on my wedding day, so I knew from day one I was doing it on my own. 😉

I primarily used my day to day products for my wedding, I would not have changed a thing. I loved how my makeup turned out and I am very glad I didn’t hire a MUA.

DO NOT use sunscreen or SPF on your wedding day! It will cause flashback which will make you look white in photos – not just pale, white.

Primer: Smashbox Photofinish Pore Minimizing primer, and UD Primer Potion

Foundation: I mix 2 together, Too Faced Born This Way and Maybelline FitMe (both in the matte finish)

I didn’t use setting powder, since my blush, contour, and highlight were all powders.

Setting spray: UD All Nighter

Eyeshadow: I used a palette from Tarte and a palette from IT Cosmetics

Eyeliner: KVD Tattoo liner

Lashes: I forget the brand, but I got a set of 3 faux mink lashes off of amazon for $6 that I LOVED – way more than any of the expensive brands I tried. But overall – faux mink looks the most natural IMO.

Mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious in waterproof.

Blush: I used the blush in my Tarte palette.

Contour: IT Cosmetics universal contour palette.

Lip: NYX liquid matte lipstick in Cannes.

This is day of! It was HOT as heck and extremely humid. This picture was taken 4 hours after I finished applying, after crying a couple times, sweating my ass off (and my face sweats a decent amount), and no touch ups.

You can use some sunscreens. You just have to avoid sunscreens that contain certain ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.  For example, some of Supergoop’s formulas contain zinc oxide. You also should avoid powder that contains silica.

Don’t wear sunscreen! It can give you a white cast in photos. I know it’s not great for your skin, but…

Loreal magic perfecting base

Maybelline dewy smooth foundation

Hard candy setting powder (no flashback!)

Wet n wild highlighter

Ulta palette bronzer+blush

Maybelline nudes eyeshadow

Monsieur big mascara

Wet n wild marker eyeliner

Ardell magnetic lashes (cut in half for easier application)

All nighter setting spray or wet n wild rose spray, haven’t decided

lucyinsky :  If you are oily at all make sure you have a setting powder! I just started using boots number 7 setting powder

I did my own makeup and used mostly my day to day products but here’s a basic list:

– Makeup Forever Matte Velvet Foundation (love this foundation)

– Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

– Sephora Luxe False Lash

– Ulta brand bronzer/highlighter/lipstick/lipliner

– Also used Ulta brand primer and setting spray

– Pretty sure my mascara was just a water proof Maybelline

– Maybelline blush

I’ll do my normal skincare routine the morning of, but probably skip the rosehip oil and definitely skip the sunscreen.

Primer: Laura Mercier Hydrating primer

Foundation: Not sure yet, trying to find something that won’t melt in July heat!

Powder: Makeup Revolution baking powder in Banana

Setting spray: Urban Decay All Nighter

Eyeshadow: One or more of the Urban Decay Naked palettes

Eyeliner: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liquid liner

Mascara: L’oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess

Lashes: Kiss, not sure exactly which ones yet

Blush: Probably Bare Minerals Indecent Proposal

Bronzer: Bare Minerals The High Dive

Highlighter: Cougar mineral highlighter

Lip: Not sure yet, trying to find something that will stay on all day without drying out my lips

I don’t like sharing pictures online, but I did my own makeup.

I wore my regular high SPF sunscreen that I usually use at the beach (I’d rather have funny looking photos than cancer or a sunburn). I slathered that stuff on my face, shoulders, neck, arms, legs, everywhere.

I got an eyeshadow pallet from sephora. I didn’t do anything fancy, just some gold and silver eye shadow and a little dark grey liner.

I got a dark redish brown lip stain from sephora (worked wonders because I didn’t have to reapply at all during the day)

And that was it. I felt gorgeous and like myself (I never wear makeup, so I didn’t want a bunch on my wedding day). There were no issues with photography.

lucyinsky :  Ah yeah definitely not worth a burn! That’s why an outdoor wedding was not an option for me lol. If you’re outside all day, you’re going to need to reapply otherwise you’ll still get a burn. Try the Supergoop Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50, you can spritz it right over your makeup and not worry about messing it up! I use it anytime I’ll be outside for any length of time with makeup on. It’s lightweight, smells nice, and isn’t greasy or shiny.

mrsjoseph :  Thank you!
