First… you’re friggin gorgeous!

Second, there is nothing wrong with using drugstore products if they work well for you and last all day. I think the L’oreal HIP line of eye colors is great, and my go-to waterproof mascara is Maybelline’s Colossal lash!

Third, if you aren’t getting the long-lasting results or high impact that you are looking for on your wedding day, I recommend a trip to Sephora in the middle of a weekday (so it won’t be busy) and play around with some of the products. Ulta can also work, though their selection of higher end products isn’t quite as extensive. The Urban Decay make-up setting sprays are fantastic, and will improve the staying power of any brand of make-up. I like Too Faced for eyeshadows, and their eye primer is also pretty awesome. Shockingly, the Sephora brand lip crayons work pretty well, and Sephora’s brush line with the bright pink handles are soooo soft and lovely. The powder brush that I have from that line is like heaven on my sensitive skin. Tarte makes my favorite setting powder, and Illamasqua has blush colors that look crazy bright in the pallette, but go on sheer and blend really well.

I definitely agree that you should get to Sephora! I used Makeup Forever HD Foundation, and I loved it so much. My friend used it for her wedding, too.

As far as eyeshadow goes, Tarina Tarantino makes some really great long lasting colors. Cargo also works really well for me. Definitely make sure you have eye primer, though!

Buy the NAKED Palette by Urban Decay! The colors will look amazing on you, and its the best makeup investment I’ve ever made. I like MAC paint pots to use as an eye primer, I usually buy the color “painterly”.

Hi! It’s great that you will be doing your own makeup. The only thing that you will need to concern yourself with is the longlasting effect you may need for a wedding. I do a lot of makeup for weddings and a lot of times i hear a lot of people’s concerns about their makeup not melting off. Between tears and sweat, you want to choose products that will stay on through all that and have touch up products that will not make your makeup look cakey when you touch up.

A few tips I have for makeup longevity is to always set your makeup. Using a powder over a liquid foundation and waterproof eye makeup. I use airbrush for my clients and I don’t believe many people do it on their own at home so there won’t be any use for you to purchase the set. But for similar results, make sure you clean your skin really well, and moisturize, use a primer, and set after applying foundation. These steps will help to make your makeup last.

Best wishes and hope these tips help!
