So I went on a little $200 shopping spree at Sephora over the weekend… and today (before work…maybe not the best timing) I decided to try my new products out…
Products:
– Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion
– Urban Decay De-slick oil control setting spray
– Sephora highlighting compact powder
– used as highlighter under eyebrows, in tearducts and on top of cheek bones
– NARS blush in deep throat
– Sephora lipstick in Star
– Sephora palette in Eternally Purple
Stuff i had/use already:
– MAC eyeshadow in Nocturnelle
– used as eyeliner
– Lise watier Teint lift anti-rides spf 20
– Old faithful pink/green maybellne mascara
Now for the pics please excuse my hair and funny facial expressions

I almost forgot to take an “after” pic… i’m ready for bed here

I was really impressed with the primer and setting spray. My makeup stayed on my eyes all day, normally its all in the crease after a few hours… it’s my first time working with primer so i’ll need to practice a bit more. I could’ve used more in the inner corners of my eyes to keep the liner from bleeding. I also should’ve blended it in/over the crease more. Overall i’m pretty happy with the look, I need some blotting sheets to keep the shineys away and i read the instructions on the setting spray after i put all my make up on; I should’ve started with the spray and then sprayed it on at the end as well.
My Fiance said I looked pretty when he came home after work 🙂 He also said that he thought I’d go really over the top with my wedding makeup and this looked fresh and natural. 🙂
What do you think bees? too much? too little? any tips?

I think it looks really pretty! If I had to make any suggestions, I would say maybe try a more peachy blush, which I think would look great with your complexion, and get a mascara that thickens and lengthens a bit more to really make your eyes pop. Other than that, good job.

So pretty! It’s awesome that it stayed on so well… My one piece of advice would be to use real eyeliner instead of eyeshadow, this is a tip I got from the make up artist at the salon I go to. She said even though I’m having a day wedding, use a chocolate brown eyeliner to make my eyes pop and my eyelashes look more substantial in pictures. I have green eyes and brown hair though.

pretty! I would second the mascara and brown eyeliner though. Personally I think the on you have on now is a little dark with such a pretty eyeshadow colour. Bad Gal Lash from Benefit is pretty good, and the maybelline ones that come in bright yellow or bright purple tubes are great for thik lush lashes!

Are those your real lashes! Beautiful!
I agree with the others to use a softer eyeliner color or smudge it more so the line isn’t so harsh.
I love the pink lipstick and I might need to try it out! It is really pretty without being bubble-gummy. HoweverI feel your blush is a little too matchy with the lipstick…maybe a little less blush would work, or use bronzer to contour your cheekbones and then just a little blush on the apples.

@allihappy: I totally agree with this – that blush looks a little harsh in the photos. And you have gorgeous lashes, if I were you I would want to thicken them a little.
@Moja Milosc: I also agree with this. Having your eyes POP in pictures is a must!
And I LOVE the lip color, just make sure to re-apply it regularly. When people’s lips loose color they look washed out.
You look gorgeous overall, great job!

I know you have already spent alot on makeup but All I cant say is that I bought this mascara from sephora for $22 and it is awesome, so you might want to upgrade your mascara to get more thickness to your lashes.

Hi I am a beauty therapist/make-up artist. I would recommend getting a foundation to suit your skintype which may give more of a matte finish as I think it’s far too shiney. You could also try a mattifying finishing powder. I think you need to blend your eyeshadow more and tone down on the blusher as it’s too bloack looking. I also thing if you removed the eyeliner from you waterline it will open your eyes more.

Thanks for the tips ladies! I’m going to play around with some different eye liners, i’ve been playing around with the blush and i’m going to tone it down and use some bronzer.
@wannabe-diy-bride those are my lashes… a couple months ago I got semi-permanent false lashes and i loved the thinkness they gave me – no mascara needed. I think I’ll be getting them for the wedding.
I’ll post more pictures the next time I have the whole look together.

I do most of my makeup shopping at Sephora, but swear but Loreal (drug store) beauty tubes in the red/white mascara bottle. While it does have some clumping effect (use a separating brush), it will absolutely not come off if you cry. Even waterproof drips for me if I cry, get sweaty, rains, etc. I believe Lancome makes one as well but since I use that every day I go drug store route.
I’d suggest the orgasm color with Nars blush as it tends to look fabulous on everyone or a contouring look with bronzer if you’d like more tan color…that said, I think you look beautiful with a more fair complexion.

I think it looks great but agree with irishbee that you need something for the shine (probably due to the camera flash)….I personally use either a primer or tinted moisturizer first, then add MAC foundation using a brush, then I apply MAC powder as well.

Use Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes, I just suggest using a different brush. It works miracles. Also you could use Revlon 3d extreme mascara at the base to really plump up and separate your amazing lashes! I also agree to use a peachier blush… But otherwise it looks great! Very similar to what I’m doing.
Might I suggest a little contouring? Just to make your bone structure pop in pictures…
