@BritneyLynn7: If I were to do them again (which I’m sure I will once the wedding is over for some nice “out on the town” shoes) I would go for flatback “hotfix” type crystals (and buy the hotfix applicator as well, as it would take such a short amount of time compared to glueing and/or sewing) in a 3mm and 4mm, in “crystal” or “silver shade” swarovski.
The venise lace appliques were from Angeltrim.com. I used are below:
VT108 -for all those little petals to frame the main flower
VT105 – another good one for all those little petals to frame the main flower
VT66 – cut up and use a whole one of these for the extra petals that mske the middle flower more 3D by layering them on top of one another in the middle.
VT71 – for those long leaves on the side
VT52 – for the leaves that go up the side and onto the foot

Also, I have a question for all the girls on here:
I am debating on whether or not (based on the amount of people asking if I can make these for them) I should open up an etsy store and make these.
Well, you’d send me your shoes and I’d do the appliques.
I wouldn’t know how to price them though…
It took me 3 months of a couple hours three times a week and a few full weekends days to do these, so lets say about 100+ hours. It would take less time to do it if it were hotfix though… so I don’t know!
And at almost $300 just for the appliques themselves, who would want to pay more than that (and it definitely would be a lot more than that with the hours involved) for some nobody to decorate their shoes for them??
How does anyone price this stuff??

Absolutely gorgeous shoes!! I got a shorter “swan” kind of shoe from lightinthe box for mine 🙂
I have no idea how to price them – but $150 seems like quite a lot for crystals, maybe try finding cheaper materials first then add on labour costs? I’ll def buy a pair, they are gorgeous!!

You did such and amazing job and you’re also a really funny writer!

@Beesatts: the crystals only cost so much cos I had to pay for postage to Australia. Plus, I have quite a few left over (I didn’t know how many I’d need), but there are 1000+ crystals on each shoe.

Beautiful indeed. What kind of glue did you use? I might do this but for my dress if it doesn’t have enough lace and crystals
