I’m so happy with how my seating chart turned out that I had to share. This baby took a loooong time to figure out, but once I got going, it wasn’t so bad. I have made several mirror signs for my wedding already, but I made so many mistakes on them and had to clean the mirrors and start over from scratch that I didn’t want to do this one the same way. Cleaning this mirror (which I found second hand for only $30!) is a nightmare with all that ironwork, so I wasn’t about to just start writing willy nilly. Then, I discovered Cricut window cling vinyl. With my Silhouette Cameo, I was able to cut all of the writing from easily removable window cling! You’d never know even close up that it’s stickers. It will be such a lifesaver to just be able to peel off the letters when the wedding is over. Anyway, here it is!

Lovely! Did you use any tutorials? I want to try to do some mirrored signs for my wedding.

cassiegirl : Thank you. I followed some Pinterest guidelines for my other ones, but for this one with my machine, I had to wing it!

This is awesome! I am totally going to do this now. Does the die cut machine take practice or does it pretty much so all the work?

queenieheather : It took me a couple of tries to get it right on my first projects, but after that the machine does everything for me, really. Whenever I’m cutting something I haven’t done before, I just Google to find out what cut settings I should be using, and generally it works perfectly.

We had a very, very similar seating chart on a mirror with gold letters/writing. Many of our guests gave us feedback that it was difficult to read the chart based on what was happening in the mirror’s reflection (ie. it’s tough to see tables five and six on your chart in the photo because of what’s in the background) and how close they could get to it. Is it too late to use black letters or a washable marker?

courtneysokal : Yep, way too late. I did a few early signs in black and was really unhappy with how it looked, too. It’s not at all difficult to read in person, though. I was getting irritated trying to take a photo because it wasn’t coming out like it looks in real life. Thanks for the heads up, though.

missunderstood : Probably even more unless you found a good sale. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it unless you would use it for other things too!
