OK, here was my DIY attempt at Mr. and Mrs. Signs for our wedding day photos. I did “Thank You” on reverse, so we can use that photo for our thank you cards.
Supplies are 2 wood plaques, Grey and Ivory Paint and Crackle medium (all from ACMoore.) I painted the plaques all over Grey first, allowed it to dry and then added the Crackle medium. Please note that you should only do one quick coat of the medium, if you go over the same area twice with the paint brush, it diminishes the crackle effect. Allow that to dry and then paint top coat of Ivory. As it dries, you will see more crackles appear.
Once everything is dry, I figured out what font/text I wanted to use and then reversed the image before printing it out. Place the text ink side down on your plaque and then run over it with a pencil. The ink will transfer onto your plaque, so you have a template to work off of. Then I just used a little paint brush to *carefully* paint in the words. I also used some stamps I had lying around to embelish it a little. I first stamped it on using a light ink, and then went back and painted it in.
I think we are just going to hold these up in the photos, but you could easily drill holes in the top and tie on a ribbon to make them chair signs.
