Ok so I previously posted that I didn’t like my pro makeup. I am still undecided whether I should get still get my makeup professionally done after I wasn’t too impressed with my trial. Below are pics from my trial and DIY. The lighting is different cuz I took pics at different times of the day….

I like the DIY I mean nobody knows your face etc like you do!!

I like your DIY more. It looks so much more natural and softer. I think the pro trial is just a bit too dark or too much on the eyes.

I definitely think you should go with the DIY. I think the professional make up looks too fake, and you look beautiful in the first picture. No contest!

Your DIY make-up looks awesome! You’re really pretty!

@organizedbride11:so true! Nobody knows my makeup “vision” or my face more than I do 🙂
@pinkshoes:I too thought my eye makeup looked weird.
@Ms.GoodEarth:I was kind of thinking the same thing about the pro makeup!
@Heatherloveskenny: You are too nice! Thanks!!!

Definitely DIY! I do not like the eyes on the pro makeup – you were right!
If you’re not sure though, why not try another make-up artist?

@MademoiselleL: I called a couple other places but since its so close to my wedding they are all booked up…
I think my makeup looks a little fake because maybe she’s not used to asian eyes. It looks like that weird line on top is supposed to be where people normally have a crease…and I don’t haha.

I think the DIY makeup looks great! I would just darken your eyebrows just a tad to make them stand out.
I’ve never liked Pro makeup because usually you don’t come out looking like yourself!

You should try another makeup artist before deciding, I personally don’t like either too much

I prefer the pro make-up. The make-up artist could have blended the eyeshadow in more and it would be perfect, because she didn’t it looks fake but a simple blend and you will have lovely wedding make-u. No offense but the DIY photo does not bring out your eyes at all, t almost makes them look sunken in and the bronzer on the cheeks looks very fake as nobody blushes with a brown colour. Bronzer is good to define areas such as cheekbones not to mimic natural blush.

I think there is hope for the pro. I’d specifically request a different lip color closer to the nude color in your DIY. I’d also request that she look into options for Asian eye…and perhaps give her inspiration pics that specifically showcase an eye that looks similar to yours (if you haven’t already). Perhaps if you showed her an inspiration pic that was of a person with double eyelid, she thought you wanted your eye to have that look, and so she essentially made a double eyelid with makeup.
I think you just need to get more specific with her. Like, I do not want the makeup to be drawn in to create the look of a crease that’s not there. I would like it to look more like my natural eye with makeup (and show inspiration pics of eyes that look like yours with makeup you like).
So overall, I think the pro can do what you want beautifully but it seems the communication may be off?

Could you try another pro?

The DIY looks alot better. Maybe that particular beautician doesn’t know how to apply it to flatter your face, but that doesn’t mean that all pros are equally bad. Get a second trial with someone else before you make a final decision.

I like both of them but I think the diy looks more natural and fresh. The pro, while very pretty, makes me think that she’s not really sure how to approach your eyes. I think for the diy makeup I would maybe use a stronger color on the cheek. I’m guessing that I’m not seeing much cheek color because of the lighting in the photograph but I like maybe a peachy sort of color would look great.
