I’ve made books onb Shutterfly & Snapfish for other things but not for a wedding.
I prefer Shutterfly, of the two.  They’re nice but not even close to a professional book but the quality is ok.  It all depends on what you’re looking for. Definitely go with the hard cover.

I’ve made books with iPhoto since Mr. Y is all Mac, all the time.  I’ve heard great things about Blurb, though, and am seriously considering using it for our wedding album.  You have a huge amount of freedom when it comes to formatting and laying out the pages.  I’m sure you can find useful input from others who’ve used it by doing a board thread search.

Good luck!  :o)

I have made an album photobook for my friends’ wedding on shutterfly, and it came out beautiful!!!  I highly recommend it! 🙂

I made a hardcover album from Shutterfly and loved it. The pages are heavy and great quality. It won’t be the thick paperboard pages like in som pro albums, but it’s nice enough that it’s what I’m planning to do for my wedding.

Also, if you leave it in your account for a couple of weeks while you work on it, they’ll start sending you coupon codes for buying a photobook. I was able to get the one I made (which was 100 pages long) for 25% off with free shipping. Sign up for their discount emails too, and check your spam filter.

I’d also recommend that you get a fabric cover. I’ve seen both the fabric and shiny covers and think the fabric looks higher quality and more keepsake album–the shiny cover looks like a kids’ book.

I made one from Shutterfly for my fiance’s grandparents anniversary party and it turned out great!  They loved it so much!  It turned out great.  its very thin though, but that is because we didnt want to spend a ton, the one we got was 12×12 and it was $70.
