We may go this route, depending on how much the booth is to rent.  There are several apps for the iphone/ipad that work, or you can plug a camera into a computer/monitor. There are several posts on here that detail how to do it.

The only thing if it is DIY, someone will need to check on it pretty regularly.  Also, printing the photos on the spot can be challenging (and add to the price).  If we DIY, I was planning to have a second monitor that shows an instant slide show of all the pics on display, but no  printing. We could upload the pics to a website for our guests and mail copies out with our thank you cards after the wedding.

I have posted this a bunch of times so forgive me if you have already seen it.  I DIY’ed ours.  I bought cheap fabric and sewed my backdrop and hung it the wall with 3M Command hooks.  We found props: retro ski wear, picture frames and chalk boards and had them handy.  I approached our photographers to see if they would be open to take pics for us in the booth.  Since it was within the timeframe they did it free of charge.  So our booth cost around $150 mostly because of the ski wear we bought…it was pricey.

Our photographers did use a tripod so I am sure a good camera, a tripod and someone taking the pics would work as well.  I know photobooths are starting to become popular and some may say overdone BUT it was one of the best decisions we made.  People LOVED it and I liked to see all the ridiculousness.  🙂 I also included the photobooth pics with our Thank You’s.  Our guests liked getting their photo.

Enough said.  😉

@Barika:  these are awesome! 🙂

@jesssamesssa:  We’re in the same boat.  A friend of ours just put a bag of props next to a camera on a tripod and let people take their own pictures. It was a really big hit.  We’re doing the same thing.

I’m sort of doing it. We’re having a guest book, and the idea is that people take a picture of themselves on their camera or iphone (props optional), hook it up to our photo printer, print the photo and stick it into the book along with their message.

@jesssamesssa:  Yes it does.  Our photographers were a duo as well.  That is why I asked if one would mind staying at the booth.  Good luck!!
