We are thinking about ordering the digital proofs for our invitations on Etsy.com. We’d pay $45 total for the digital proof of the invitation, RSVP card, and enclosure card. We’d then have to take the file to a print shop to be printed (color on special paper) and be cut.
Has anybody done this? Would you recommend doing it again? Did it really save you money? How much do you think printing and paper will cost on top of the $45?
Thanks for the help!

My fiance and I did this for our Save the Dates. It worked out REALLY well. We went through several proofs with an awesome etsy seller (feel free to PM me if you’d like her name) and were really pleased with the results. I think it’s smart to go to a printer – I’m not sure if our personal printer would have done nearly as good of a job.
We paid the etsy seller ~$20 and copying cost ~$70 (for 100 color save the dates – but I think we were able to fit two/ page so we were only charged for 50 sheets of paper). To be honest, we didn’t even look into professional save the dates, so I can’t say for sure how much (if anything) we saved.
We would totally go the etsy route for our wedding invites but my mom is also great with designing cards, etc. so she’s going to do them for us.
