I have been doing a lot of DIY project with our wedding because I know what I want and pretty much accomplish it with the a hot glue gun and some ribbon on top of the we are saving a ton of money. cha ching. FH has been giving me ideas on little details and DIY projects and has been helping on most of them. We have had so much fun doing them I love doing them with him because we are bonding so much more before our wedding.
Last night he was helping me, or should I say I was helping him since it was his idea, fill little boxes with m&m’s. We made 150 little favors with the M&M’s and we had fun doing it togerher, he was so excited about doing it when he came home from work. Tonight we are going to work on the shot glasses, putting them in tulle circles to make them look nicer. By The Way he was a huge help with the invitations, he is the my best helper.
What are the Mr. Bees helping you Bees with?

Hmmm…the only thing my husband is helping with in terms of DIY is the cash to buy the supplies. 🙂 LOL That’s great that he wants to help and y’all are having a blast., My list is a little advanced for my sweet guy. He’s really good at making the money that I need for supplies. Much better than I am. 🙂 He does sit with me while I do all my various projects though. He’s good moral support!

my Fiance is also there for moral support during the diy, but i made him do the paper punch on the top of our invitations since it hurts my hand 🙂

Oh, I love when couples work together on wedding planning and projects! I feel like our Fis get left out so often, or aren’t given the recognition they deserve! Our DIY projects were pretty limited. We did all our stationary together: Save-The-Date Cards, invites, escort cards, etc… And I am proud to say that my Fi is way craftier than me! He is really good at tying ribbons, gluing flowers, and his handwriting is better, too! Also, he is doing all of the reception set-up. I told him we could hire a DOC to do that so he could relax on the day of the wedding, but he really wanted to be the one to do it, so now he’s directing the whole thing himself. I am very proud of Mr. Spring!

That is so sweet, and you are really lucky to have a Fiance who wants to help you with this stuff. So far I’ve managed to get my Fiance to do exactly one thing: print our place cards at Kinkos.

I think Mr. PrettyinPink is going to help me do the place card trees (with manzanita branches) It requires some stuff from home depot so it’s a non-girly project. =)

My Fiance is like yours, Carmen! He has helped me with all the crazy DIY projects I have wanted to take on. We made our own invitations so he helped me cut belly bands, glue on pink jewels and cut vellum overlays. Since we haven’t put a deposit down on our venue yet, (we’re doing that next weekend) we are currently working together on the envelope liners. I would do the cutting and he would glue them to the envelopes. As more DIY projects come up, I’m sure I can count on him to help me out.
We spend an hour or so after work just talking about our day and working on our DIY projects. It’s super fun and gives us some time to unwind and bond over our wedding.

Thats so great you have him to help you. My Fiance is not so great at the hot glue and ribbon projects but he is a wiz with photoshop and has designed and formatted most of our paper projects.

We’ve been having having DIYing together, too. So far we’ve assembled invitations, put together our manzanita seating card tree, and shopped for other project supplies. It’s so cute to see him eager to help! The real test will come when we bake our favors… all 120 of them. :o)
